Well, early Saturday my boyfriend, Billy, got up pretty early to go stand in line at Toys R’ Us to get a Wii, while I was manning the phones for Whiteflash. I’ve been doing quite a bit of research and reading a lot of reviews on it and everything, sort of like all my clients do when they’re looking for a diamond. I like to play video games but I’m not addicted by any means. My techy bf is a whole other subject..LOL

I’m thinking this is going to be just like our PS3 and just something else for us to buy games for that we don’t exactly need… So, he gets home about 10:30am, of course he had to go to Best Buy and get some more games. He starts setting it up while I finish my work. The console came with the Wii Sports games. In goes the disc, and we’re playing around creating our own Mii’s - you create your character to look like you or make some silly friends to add to your party (Celina’s is absolutely hysterical).

After we get going, we opt to play Tennis first. From the first serve, I am completely addicted! We’re jumping around our living room swatting the tennis ball and having an absolute BLAST! I finish up whooping on Billy and it’s now on to Baseball. You swing the remote just like a bat. Just like real baseball, timing is everything…LOL I only had 2 home runs and Billy ended up with like a gazillion… needless to say I can’t brag about that one..LOL Next up is bowling. I consider myself to be a pretty fierce bowler. On the Wii, I look like pro!! LOL I had 5 strikes in a row. You do the entire motions and everything. Again, Jamie was the champ on this one! LOL Then comes golf. I’m not a huge golf fan but it’s soooo much fun on the Wii. My best so far is +4 which I know isn’t great but it is for me who doesn’t play golf! LOL Last but not least come Boxing. Now, let me tell you, this gives you a run for your money. You have to swing and you go through some rounds against your opponent. I had no idea what I was in for but by the 3rd round I was ready to cry and couldn’t even lift my arms… LOL Talk about a killer workout! It is absolutely so much fun!

After further playing around, we find that they actually have Training and Fitness routines that you can do for all the different sports. I found this to be very motivating because it keeps you from just sitting around and only working your fingers on a controller to where you’re up lunging around like a complete fool and having fun! LOL

So, Billy comes home last night with a surprise for me…. The Brunswick Pro Bowling game for the Wii!! Needless to say, this is a lot more difficult than the regular sports game. You actually have to have all your motions and everything exact and release the ball at the exact point and rotate your wrist and all that jazz.. it’s going to take a while to get good on this game but I have not doubt that I will! But Mario Party 8 is also really fun on the Wii!

I HIGHLY recommend a Wii! We don’t have children, but most of the time we act like kids anyways, and this will surely help keep the kid in everyone alive. The Tiger Woods Golf game comes out today… let’s see if I have another surprise from Billy tonight!!!!

  1. your welcome jamie for letting you know where they were to become available : P

  2. I heard the Wii is awesome. Better than the PS3 and Xbox. I’ve been debating about getting one but I think this just made up my mind…

I’ve heard it picks up your exact movements without a hitch.

  3. Exactly Mark… that means if you’re putting and you move slightly..it knocks the ball off the tee…LOL We picked up Tiger Woods Golf game and it’s sooo much fun. I am totally not a golf chick but I kicked butt. For my first game I had a 73% accuracy and had 2 hole in ones…. and let me tell ya.. I had to earn every bit of it.! Now, the Brunswick Pro Bowler game is another issue.. still haven’t mastered that one yet.. but I will! :-)

It totally is better than the PS2 and PS3… they get no attention now at our house…LOL I promise to become the next boxing champ as well. That’s my next goal!
