From the Daily Journal - Hey, it turns out attorneys are all right. Kim Donald was working closing arguments in a divorce trial Friday, Sept. 14, when she lost a family heirloom, a diamond engagement ring inherited from her late grandmother Marie. “I sometimes remove my rings as a nervous habit,” she says. Either that or it fell off. Grandma had considerably larger hands than Kim. Getting home Friday night, Kim’s husband, fellow attorney Ed Pentuic, suggested she look in the county’s lost and found Monday morning. If you’ve never seen it, Kim discusses the county’s lost and found as one of the “cheesy operations’ of all time. It’s just a plastic box. But inside the box Monday morning — one glove, a lighter, half a pack of Lifesavers and a $10,000 70-year-old diamond ring. Attorney Jason Cieslak had found the ring and turned it in. Donald considers herself fortunate. About one third of the people running through the courthouse are folks accused of a crime, and another third is broke and facing some civil action.

One Response to “$10,000 diamond ring returned via lost & found”

  1. This is truly remarkable. The odds were definitely against her ever seeing it again but all it takes is one honest person.
