rx.jpgWhen I was a kid (MANY MANY MANY years ago!!!) growing up in my home town of Cincinnati…..the corner drugstore was called “Plotnicks Pharmacy”. Whenever we had minor ailments like a rash or sore throat, Mom would tell us to walk up the street and talk to Mr. Plotnick. She was a firm believer that in many instances, our druggist knew more then the Dr. about what was wrong with us and what medicines would fix it…..   Flash ahead to the present, and it seems that “Mama Kip” was (and still is) quite a visionary because now the pharmacy that is on everyone’s corner (Walgreens) has an in-store health clinic (see link below)! What a clever idea! Nurse Practitioners to check you and prescribe the right medicine all in one place! It’s not quite the same as kindly ol’ Mr. Plotnick but the general idea has come full circle. Seems Mom’s do know best after all!
