It won’t feed you, in fact it won’t do much of anything, but the precious robot (or, more accurately, statue) sure is shiny! Gundam Fix Platinum, a pure-platinum interpretation of a famous Japanese anime robot, was created by toymaker Bandai Co. Ltd. and jeweler Ginza Tanaka.

The $1,000 Sundae
Just around the corner from Bloomingdale’s, where New Yorkers spend thousands on clothing, is restaurant Serendipity 3, where they can spend thousands on dessert. The Golden Opulence Sundae features Tahitian vanilla ice cream covered in edible 23k gold, dessert caviar (infused with fruit essence), and the most expensive, rarest chocolate in the world.

The $1,000 Pizza
If you lack a sweet/gold tooth, a luxury pizza might be more your style. Also available in New York, at restaurant Nino’s Bellissima, it’s a 12-inch dish that comes to your mouth covered in six different kinds of caviar, crème fraîche, and lobster tail. It has been served six times since its debut in March.
