In case you see on the news about damage in Jackson, TN and wonder about me, the tornado missed us by 1/3 mile.  I actually saw the tornado coming in our direction and we got in the closet. We have tree limbs and litter in our yard but other than that we are fine. I’ve told you about the university that we follow in basketball. Union

University was totally devastated. All of the women’s dorms are gone and the men’s dorms are severely damaged. There is no building on campus that didn’t sustain some sort of damage. They have shut down school for 2 weeks while they decide whether to hold classes the rest of this semester. You can go on YouTube and see video from here. One of the attorneys at our firm lost his home but the family was uninjured. It was a pretty scary night last night.  On a lighter note, FedEx was not damaged and awaits my delivery. Alisha sent us the following update today:  I’d just like everyone to be aware that I have no loss/damage but I do have friends with damaged homes and of course the students at Union University are close to my heart.  It wouldn’t hurt to have others thinking and praying for these people while they put their lives back together. Homes and buildings can be rebuilt as long as you are safe. We did have 2 fatalities in this county. I do not know them but their friends and families should be remembered at this time as well. Union University is going to repair roofs in the classroom buildings and life will go on. They are considering putting the students up for adoption this semester since the dorms were completely demolished. I wouldn’t be surprised if I go home one day and my husband has adopted a student during the day. He would really love to have one of the basketball players I’m sure! Can I just say that I love the WF family! I’ve never “met” anyone there but I feel like I know several very well.
