That’s what happens when you grow up in a competitive family, make it through the U.S. Naval Academy, become a mother of three and co-found a company that makes items safe for those who need it most, babies. The company is called Dr. Bloom Inc., named after her sister, Helen Bloom Smith, a dentist in their hometown, Birmingham, Ala. The products are chewable jewels — bracelets, necklaces and key chains intended primarily for mothers of small children, who aren’t known to be discriminating when it comes to putting things in their mouths.

The company’s genesis came when friends and family expressed interest in a bracelet worn by Wright, whose young twins were teething. Click here for MORE.
